<div>Hello,</div><div><br></div><div>I'm working on calibrating some VLBA data and I have a few questions about the opacity corrections carried on by APCAL. I'm following the guidelines on the AIPS cookbook and the results are mostly satisfactory, but my questions are:</div><div><br></div><div>1. Is it possible to access the details on the fit? I can see the fitted values on the MSGSRV, and the opacity as a function of time plotted on the TV, but I don't see this information written into any table.</div><div>2. Is there any way to assess the quality of the receiver temperature fit quantitatively (e.g., a chi2 value)?</div><div><br></div><div>The reason I'm asking is that I'm working with a wide variety of datasets and, in many of them, observations cover a very narrow range of airmasses (or sec z). In those cases, I'm concerned the fit may not be reliable and could lead to unrealistic opacity corrections. Having a quantitative diagnostic or guideline on when the fit can be trusted would be very useful.</div><div><br></div><div>Do you have any insights or recommended best practices for cases where the Tsys cover few airmasses?</div><div><br></div><div>Thank you for your time,</div><div>Diego</div>
