At L-band, this is often due to RFI causing a significant portion of the bandwidth to be unusable. Some of the other issues that will impact your actual RMS are things like antennas dropping out, low level RFI that remains in the data, and scattering due to the ISM.</div><div>It is not uncommon to see global FRING failure rates of greater than 10% at L-band. Usually, this is due to needing to heavily flag the data.</div><div>Your final RMS of 24 uJy/beam is actually quite good for L-band, and I’m not sure that you could do any better without much longer observations.</div><div>Justin</div></div><!-- DP_MESSAGE_END -->
