It looks like your KNTR worked with the optical image making a small grey-scale area at roughly 0 37 48.5, 31 13 40. I do not know why there is no "star" KNTR requires SDTVERS=1; STFACTOR=1 or more to plot it. You did not show me the inputs to KNTR. If your
optical image contains more than a single star-like object, you must set pixrange to bring out more of the optical image</div>

I am sorry but I do not see the problem. Use OHGEO or HGREOM to put the 2 images on identical coordinate projections. Then STARS to make a "star" at the desired coordinate. Then one of the contour tasks to make a grey scale of one image and contour of the
other and to plot the "star".</div>

It depends a bit on what you need to do. The task STARS will let you prepare a ST table with "star" coordinates and type. Then AIPS contour tasks allow you to plot the "stars" on the contour image. Alternatively, LWPLA makes a</div>

I am sorry but I do not see the problem. Use OHGEO or HGREOM to put the 2 images on identical coordinate projections. Then STARS to make a "star" at the desired coordinate. Then one of the contour tasks to make a grey scale of one image and contour of the
other and to plot the "star".</div>

It depends a bit on what you need to do. The task STARS will let you prepare a ST table with "star" coordinates and type. Then AIPS contour tasks allow you to plot the "stars" on the contour image. Alternatively, LWPLA makes a</div>
