<div>We observed the target 2007-245 (J2010-2425) as a part of project bj124. 3C454.3 is the fringe finder and 2005-231(J2005-2310) is the phase calibrator. Total on-target time is ~33 mins. Observing frequency is 1299. MHz (mid-of-band); 32 MHz BW, 128 channels.</div><div><br></div><div>I ran `VLBARUN’ in AIPS which produced visibilities of 2005-231 and 2007-245 with initial calibration applied. And generated initial images of 2005-231 (attached). The position of the peak is same as the position of `astrogeo’ image (Skypos: RA 20 05 56.5955000 DEC -23 10 27.009700).</div><div><br></div><div>However, for 2007-245 the declination is offset by ~0.6” while the RA is matching closely. During imaging I see that the beam is quite elongated vertically (attached image), the astrogeo position is very much within this beam. However, the peak in the beam is offset from the astrogeo position. I made a very compact clean-box around the peak, and the location of the source comes-out to be</div><div>Skypos: RA 20 10 45.1190051 DEC -24 25 45.013500.</div><div>after first round of imaging. The DEC is already offset from the astrogeo position.</div><div><br></div><div>Then using first image as the model I did few rounds of phase-only self calibration, and one round of A&P self-calibration, and imaging. While self-calibration could offset the source position further, I did this to retrieve the complete source structure, which was not visible in the first image. I have attached the L band image. While the structure appears to be close to that of C band image ( requested from Leonid Petrov; Astrogeo), the issue is with the offset in the position.</div><div><br></div><div>Could you please advise on what could be going wrong here, and if I need follow any more steps.</div><div><br></div><div>Thanks,</div><div>Aditya </div><div></div><div></div>
