The elaborate script you are using is for that case. You need to set AIPS_ROOT to the directory that is your basic AIPS directory, e.g.<span style="color:#2690db;"> /Users/egreisen/AIPS,</span> not your home directory. Then source LOGIN.SH which will take care of everything.
