I'm not sure whether this is an aipsmail or daip question:

AIPS (LNX64) seems to require libtinfo.so.5 to run. The strange thing is
that AIPS comes with it's own version of libtinfo.so.5, at e.g.
/home/aips/31DEC24/LNX64/LIBR/XTRA/libtinfo.so.5
but it doesn't actually use that one. On my Ubuntu 22.04 system
it uses the system one at /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libtinfo.so.5.9

I'm trying to install AIPS on a Debian system which has only
libtinfo.so.6 installed.

thanks, michael
