<div>Dear Eric Greisen,</div><div><br></div><div>Yes, the three difmap images are from the same dataset. </div><div><br></div><div>I have also reprocessed the dataset, but with two new changes as suggested by your previous comment. 1) I now run calib using difmap stokes I model of J1407 before determining the D-terms</div><div>2) I do cross-hand delay calibration using RLDLY and CLCAL instead of VLBACPOL</div><div><br></div><div>However, the new AIPs reduction also seems to produce similar issues as before. I have attached the Stokes I, Q, and U images for the J2202 source (J2202StokesI.png ,J2202StokesU.png, and J2202StokesU.png). </div><div><br></div><div>From the above Q, and U images, it can be seen that the source is at the phase center when using all the antennas, but flagging one antenna at a time seems to either move the source position or produce spurious sources of significant polarised flux. Is this expected in polarisation analysis? Is this why VLBA pol journals crop out features in linear polarised images that do not coincide with stokes I?</div><div><br></div><div>Also note, when I make stokes Q and U images in difmap, I run one clean cycle without using any clean windows (as shown in image imagingWithNoCleanWindows.png). Using clean windows from stokes I seem to force the Q, and U source position to coincide with stokes I, but I am not happy with that method as the resulting model of the source does not accurately represent the visibilities (as can be seen from radplot of figure imagingWithCleanWindows.png)</div><div><br></div><div>In regards to D-terms, the leakage I obtained from LPCAL is around 1-6% and is in agreement with the values mentioned in VLBA pol journals (eg, MOJAVE papers).
