Note :I run AIPS on my laptop (Linux), so it is unlikely that the
issue is related to a disk problem.

I reloaded the UVCOP exe. Then I monitored the UVCOP1 process
using watch :

* when launching the task in AIPS, the process UVCOP1 starts

* it runs for about 5 seconds (which seems short considering the
dataset is about 2 Go)

* then the process disapears ; in AIPS, the task seems to be
still running (no error message).

After double checking the output file, this one is not complete :
all tables but the FQ one are missing! So something is really
happening (or not happening).
Any idea of what is happening here? I know there were some
recent
changes in this task...

BTW, I am using the up-to-date 31DEC22 version of AIPS.
That is good. I wish more people were using the latest.

Note that ABORT takes NUMTELL. So if you are running in say AIPS2
but NUMTELL is 1, then ABORT will try to kill UVCOP1 when you are
running UVCOP2. NUMTELL 0 says to use your current AIPS number.

Try SPY or outside AIPS "ps -elf | grep UVCOP" to see if the task
is in fact running. If not, perhaps it simply vanished although
there is an abort handler that is supposed to yield a message.

If it is present, perhaps some one of your disks is off line. We
had symptoms like this recently when our Lustre disk complex had
problems.
