The calibration of interferometer images comes from the Fourier transform of the beam which will have some arbitrary value caused by the data sampling and the weighting functions used to image the data. The actual image will also have that arbitrary scaling. So we normalize the beam to be 1 Jy/beam at its central pixel and apply that same scaling to the actual image. With a Cleaned image the beam has a meaningful size = that of the Gaussian Clean beam which has convolved the point sources of the Clean model. IMHEADER shows that beam in arc sec but it is acttually stored in the header as degrees. The sizes you show would require interplanetary baselines so I suspect they are degrees rather than milli arc sec. The beam area in pixels is then computed by the area of the Gaussian (1.2 * Bmaj * Bmin) / (size of a pixel in the same units) and 24 is a normal value. IMHEADER lists the pixel size which you set with CELLSIZE in IMAGR. To compare two images you must be careful with the units. Jy per square arcsec is probably useful.<br></div><div><br></div>
