<div dir="ltr"><div>Dear Designated AIP,</div><div><br></div><div>Happy new year! After some time without using AIPS, I decided to download some VLBA archival data and play with it a bit. I tried to use some of the scripting methods, and went for a first fresh call of VLBAUTIL after which I checked the inputs of VLBARUN, encountering however the following missing adverb message:</div><div><br></div><div><span style="font-family:monospace">>inp vlbarun<br>AIPS 1: VLBARUN: Applies amplitude and phase calibration to VLBA data !<br>AIPS 1: Adverbs Values Comments<br>AIPS 1: ----------------------------------------------------------------<br>AIPS 1:<br>AIPS 1: To run this procedure you MUST type RUN VLBAUTIL and<br>AIPS 1: RUN VLBARUN first to define the procedures in AIPS.<br>AIPS 1:<br>AIPS 1: -- Load the data from disk --<br>AIPS 1: DATAIN *all ' ' Disk file name<br>AIPS 1: DOUVCOMP -1 Compress data? Use -1, 0 or 1<br>AIPS 1: OUTNAME ' ' File name (name)<br>AIPS 1: OUTDISK 1 Working disk with ample space<br>AIPS 1: -- OR existing file --<br>AIPS 1: INNAME ' ' Input file name<br>AIPS 1: INCLASS ' ' Input file class<br>AIPS 1: INSEQ 0 Input file sequence number<br>AIPS 1: INDISK 0 Disk number for input file<br>AIPS 1: -----------------------------<br>AIPS 1: OPTYPE ' ' For CONT, PSEU or SPEC (LINE)<br>AIPS 1: -----------------------------<br>AIPS 1: CLINT 0 CL table interval in minutes.</span></div><div><span style="font-family:monospace">AIPS 1: MISSING ADVERB: TRY A 'COMPRESS' OR 'HELP NOADVERB' FOR INFO<br>AIPS 1: SYMBOL? CHREFANT</span></div><div><br></div><div>Of course the first thing I tried was to do some RESTORE 0 and COMPRESS, which didn't solve the problem. I kleenex-ed and restarted AIPS. getting VLBAUTIL (which loads perfectly) and INP VLBARUN still gives the same issue. I found an old dAIP topic about a similar situation here:</div><div><a href="https://listmgr.nrao.edu/pipermail/daip/2003-November/005033.html">https://listmgr.nrao.edu/pipermail/daip/2003-November/005033.html</a></div><div>So I tried rescuing my do.daily_localhost and did some MNJ and RUN POPSGN. I still found the same missing adverb signal.</div><div><br></div><div>Final check, I installed the new 31DEC21 version of AIPS making sure about the ./AIPSRC file and taking into consideration the changes in AIPSPATH.SH and AIPSPATH.CSH, as advised for installations with a previous version already in the system. I am running a macOS High Sierra 10.13.6 and I did not forget to do the additional steps for the system (services, fix_aips_macos.sh, sysctl kern.sysv). AIPS seems to be working great, but still, the same missing adverb problem remains in VLBARUN. This issue does not happen in any other procedure of VLBAUTIL.</div><div><br></div><div>Is there anything that I am missing out here? Any thoughts from your side?</div><div><br></div><div>Thank you very much,</div><div><br></div><div> Juan Carlos<br></div></div>
