<p>I wish that your message was more readable (i.e. line breaks between commands).  But I think you  should re-install AIPS.  If the help files are not there, what else is missing?  You do seem to have a good bit so it is very strange that the help files are gone and that the directory does not even exist.  You could try</p>
<p>cd $AIPS_ROOT</p>
<p>du -h . > dulist.txt</p>
<p>and then send me the dulist.txt file.</p>
