<p>You need to set up one (or more) disk directories to hold your AIPS</p>
<p>data.  In each directory there must be a file named SPACE preferably</p>
<p>with wide open privileges.  You can make that by</p>
<p>cd data directory</p>
<p>touch SPACE</p>
<p>To tell AIPS about these data areas you need a file named .dadevs.always</p>
<p>(note that it starts with a dot).  Its contents could look like this:</p>

<p>+ /lustre/aoc/users/egreisen/AIPS/LUSTRE_1</p>
<p></p>
<p>where there are 2 spaces between the + and the start of the pathname to your data area.</p>
