I assume you mean the Tek window even though the text of your
message says tv. I also assume you are on a Mac. We discovered
recently that the Mac (not Linux) version has this "feature".

The Tek function runs in an xterm window and the emulation actually
has 2 windows. The first is some sort of control window and the second,
when TKPL or TKSLICE is invoked, is the plot window. When aips starts,
the first window should be in icon form. If you leave it in that form on
Macs, then when TKPL runs the plot does not appear (although TKPL
is happy and thinks everything is good). So on Macs, one must
click on that icon, causing it to disappear. Then when TKPL runs the
plot will appear. This feels "magical" but that is what we found. On
Linux, the first window can sit as an icon or be opened with no effect
on the TK functions.

Eric Greisen
