The first issue: some process, which may be long gone from<br />your computer has locked the accounting file.  Since you<br />are unlikely to care about its contents, cd to the $DA00<br />area (usually $AIPS_ROOT/DA00/).<br /><br />mv AC* ACfile.save<br /><br />cd $AIPS_ROOT<br />. LOGIN.SH<br />$CDTST<br />RUN FILAIP<br />6 2<br /><br />This will make a new AC file.<br /><br />The second issue:  type aips tv=local:0<br />which will get a new instance of the TV and message servers<br />for each aips window.  The :0 is needed to get a new one rather<br />than using an existing one.<br /><br />Note I read Chapetr 2 of the CookBook to make sure this is<br />what is needed.  The man aips command also should work.<br /><br />Eric Greisen<br />
