Three questions:<br /><br />1. Why are you compiling locally - do you plan to write your own AIPS tasks?<br /><br />2. Where did you find such an old compiler?  gfortran is up around version 7<br />at present and I do not think gfortran even had versions less than 4.  I<br />seem to remember g77 as 2.95.  gfortran started to work with version 5 something<br />versions 4 something mostly had strange problems.<br /><br />3  Are you using a 32-bit computer?  The addressing issues you report suggest<br />that you are, or have chosen to force AIPS to think you are.<br /><br />Eric Greisen<br />
