This sort of error suggests that the account you are using lacks<br />privilege to write on the first data area.  Since you are not at an<br />NRAO site I cannot check that for you.<br /><br />It does not have to do with the user number, but the actual account.<br />Enter in your xterm (not in aips)<br /><br />groups<br /><br />which will tell you to what groups you belong.  Then cd to the<br />directory containing your data directory.  Do an ls -l and that will<br />show permissions by user, group, and world for the data directory.<br />You may also need to do an ls -l in the data area itself, particularly<br /> ls -l SPACE.<br /><br />Eric Greisen<br />
