I followed</div><div>all the tricks you highlights in your webpage but I still cannot get it</div><div>to run. </div><div><br></div><div>Here's what's happening with the few techniques I tried.</div><div><br></div><div>Just a note that, on Tiger, I used the command:</div><div>STAR_AIPS tv=local </div><div>which worked quite well.</div><div><br></div><div>If I try using on: START_AIPS there is no tvserver window but</div><div>there is a .TVSRV.EXE process running.</div><div><br></div><div>1] So, following your suggestions, I first tried:</div><div><br></div><div>setenv DISPLAY localhost:0</div><div>source /Users/aipsmng/LOGIN.CSH</div><div>/Users/aipsmng/STAR_AIPS</div><div><br></div><div>--> a password is asked and then, I am able to get into aips but</div><div> there is no tvserver, no msgserver, and no tekserver windows </div><div> opening. Only TPMON is activated in the list of process. Also,</div><div> if I try to do, say "mcat", it ask for a password.</div><div><br></div><div>I did the "sshkeygen" in my .ssh folder but I could not find a way,</div><div>in the "system preference/firewall" to select the port numbers. The </div><div>system preference of Snow Leopard has changed a lot since Tiger.</div><div>My /etc/services file does include the Aips TCP/UDP ports. </div><div><br></div><div>2] If I do not set the DISPLAY, but instead use the old way, i.e. </div><div>STAR_AIPS tv=local, then, only the msgserver and tekserver windows </div><div>open, but no tvserver.</div><div><br></div><div>it seems to start a ./TVSRV.EXE process though when I check with "ps -ef"</div><div><br></div><div>Is there a new way, with Snow Leopard to fix these problems?</div><div><br></div><div>Thanks - Sylvie.</div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div> <br><div>
