Dear sir,<br>I tried a lot to install aips '07 version but in installation it was giving error in INSTEP2 as I mentioned in my previous mail.<br>That why I want to edit this file.<br>But now I have installed aips successfully.<br>
Actually the problem was in APLGEN.LIS.<br>In which the line for ZSACPT was not having '-' or was not commented whatever may it be.<br>So i did that and I have compiled the installation again as you said by using 'perl install.pl -n'<br>
and after that it completed installation but still it created problem with aips root area so I have edited START_AIPS.<br>And then I have added some lines in '/etc/services' in local services <br>and now aips is working fine.<br>

2) You need to source LOGIN.CSH and then $CDTST to run INSTEP2 by itself. The subroutine that failed to compile is not actually used so comment out ZSACPT.C in the list and try again.<br>

BUT - do you plan to develop AIPS programs yourself? If not, it would be better to use the binary installation:<br>
perl install.pl -n<br>
in which case you do not depend on local compilers.<br>
<br>
If this still fails - send mail to <a href="mailto:daip@nrao.edu" target="_blank">daip@nrao.edu</a> (I will be away on vacation) and let us know your operating system (in detail) and info about your compilers. NULL should be really well known.<br>
