Sorry, my mistake, I did o and have a look at the XAS files and found I wasn't permitted to execute them, so I did a chmod +x on the files so that they were executable...<BR>

The gethostbyname function does not recognize the name of your<BR>
machine which suggests that the name server for internet functions is<BR>
not fully configured.<BR>

The error message you sent last time comes after this call I believe<BR>
so your system knew itself previously and does not now. Were you<BR>
disconnected from the internet?<BR>

Ah. I think I may have figured the unknown host bit out -- I was disconnected from our work network certainly, (am currently writing this email from home on the machine. I presume if I change HOSTS.LIST to include LOCALHOST that should deal with that?<BR>
