<DIV>Hi.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV> I installed Fedora Core 5 some time back and installed a fresh
version of AIPS yesterday. Everything looks fine except that ZSSSL2 finds
an unknown host so I can't address the TV. Similarly, TKPL can't find the
host/service by name (error 3). I also note that the AIPS_MSGSRV window
doesn't have the true hostname ("blackhole") in the left-hand column i.e. I
get</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV> hostna> task #: Message </DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Looks like the hostname has got lost somewhere. Yet </DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV> HOSTNAME=blackhole</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>and</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV> HOST= BLACKHOLE</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>which seems to be correct.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV> So ... just in case this is a known issue with a ready
solution, I thought I'd ask what the answer is before I start digging.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV> One other thing ... the discussion about compilers for AIPS on
the AIPS web pages seems to be rooted in about year 2000. Most of us
aren't running RH7.0 any longer and haven't been for a while. Perhaps that
discussion needs to be updated to reflect the use of Fedora Core versions.</DIV>
