Dear ASAC members and participants,<br>
<br>
The ALMA Board last week resolved that it:<br>
<br>
"Concurred with the JAO's proposal to change the ASAC contact person
from the project scientist to the Deputy Director"<br>
<br>
I am therefore very pleased to take on this role, and thank Richard
Hills for his excellent handling of this important contact over past
years. Of course, Richard and Lars will continue to be the principal
sources of information flow both to and from ASAC.<br>
<br>
Unfortunately, tomorrow's scheduled telecon for ASAC has caught some
of us - and particularly me - a little unawares. It also turns out
that Kelsey Johnson, Deputy Chair and attendee at last week's Board
meeting on behalf of ASAC, is not available at that time. I believe
it is very important that Kelsey be able to participate in the
telecon in order to provide feedback from the Board meeting.<br>
<br>
I therefore propose that we reschedule the telecon for <u>UT14:30
next Tuesday, April 19</u>. Confirmation of the time, dial-in
details, an agenda, and any necessary background materials will be
provided in the next day or so.<br>
<br>
I appreciate the inconvenience of this late change of schedule and
will work to avoid such changes in the future.<br>
<br>
Best wishes,<br>
<br>
<br>
Lewis Ball<br>
