To ALMA IPT leaders and deputies --

A draft version of the ALMA "System Design Description" document is
now available for comments.  It has already gone through a couple of
preliminary drafts, but it still contains some information that is
uncertain or needs checking.

The document is number 80.04.00.00-002-A and can be found at

Your comments are welcome, along with those of anyone else who you
think should check it at this stage.  It might be discussed at the
Richmond meeting next week.  However, it's definitely in draft form,
so this is not a request for formal review; that will probably come
later.  I don't want to burden anyone with the need to read this
several times as it evolves, but any help you can provide in ensuring
that it is correct will be appreciated.
